What Is Roof Soft Washing?
Those dark black streaks running down your roof shingles are not dirt — they're Gloeocapsa magma, a hardy cyanobacteria that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Left untreated, it spreads across your entire roof, holds moisture against the surface, and significantly shortens shingle lifespan.
High-pressure roof washing blasts granules off shingles, voiding most manufacturer warranties and accelerating deterioration. Our SoftWash method uses an ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association) approved low-pressure application combined with a specialized biocide solution that kills the algae, moss, and lichen at the cellular level — not just rinses the surface.
